Hey guys,

Hope you are all doing well.

So…the real things that make you go, hmmmmmm…

1) I could’ve sworn the military said I was too old for basic training again…yet, I’m getting confronted by hard-nosed professors who expect me to know who owns horse manure dropped in a city street…would almost rather do push-ups.

2) Do all law schools subscribe to the Animal Channel? You guys can’t possibly realize how many old cases there are, that we rely on for today’s laws, that have to do with animals!?! Our first case had to do with 2 guys fighting over a dead fox…and thus begins our lecture on Property Law. Yippeee!!!!

3) Aahhhh…Contract Law…Look up the word “boring” in the dictionary, and you should find pictures of Contract Law Casebooks. Our professor even knows it is boring…she is taking us on a group outing to see the Braves—that is the only way to make the class interesting--bribery! (and for those of you wondering, I will ALWAYS be a Mets fan)

4) I am taking a 4 month class…the object of said class is, by December, to write a memo. Yes, A memo.

Oh yeah…one more thing…Did you know young guys think old cars are HOT!?!?!?

I have seen more 80’s Monte Carlos, Lincoln Continentals, Town Cars—cars, we from the north, would title “hoop-dees”. Yet, here, the guys drive them with renewed enthusiasm (and $5000 rims!). No joke. A guy (and his 20 closet friends) drove up to me as I was walking…he was leaning out of a car I haven’t seen since Happy Days went into syndication…and he said “How you doin?” Oh, sooooo badly did I want to pull out my Northeasterner sarcasm and say “I’m driving a car that was made in this century---how YOU doin?”
Would that have been rude?

Otherwise…Everything is great. I’m out of class most days by noon—which almost leaves me enough time to study. I’ve been eating right (because I’m poor and can’t afford to eat out!) and the people at school are really nice (and smart). And every day we are reminded how “honorable” a profession we have chosen. (yeah, feel free to send lawyer jokes). I haven’t adopted an accent yet, although I’m practicing ;-)…only so I can deliver my sarcastic line as “How y’all doing” (gotta add the “g” down here). That way, they’ll still call me a witch…but, not a Yankee witch J

Week Two--I miss all of you!!! (sooooo much!)

OH YEAH!…stay tuned…I intend to update my website “suzannejackson.com” with my weekly law school escapades. Uh-oh…that sounds really BORING! Okay, how about my “Hot-lanta” escapades…whew, redemption.
